Freemasonry made intelligible to its followers: The Fellow Craft’s Book

Oswald Wirth (1860 – 1943) was Stanislas de Guaita’s secretary. Esotericist, occultist, tarologist, astrologer and writer, he played an important role in French Freemasonry. His best-known book on the subject remains “Freemasonry made intelligible to its followers”.

Joseph Paul Oswald Wirth (1860-1943) was a Swiss occultist, artist, and author. He studied esotericism and symbolism under Stanislas de Guaita, creating a cartomantic Tarot called “Les 22 Arcanes du Tarot Kabbalistique” in 1889. This deck, based on the Tarot de Marseille, incorporated occult symbolism and was the first in a series of occult and initiatory decks. Wirth also had interests in Freemasonry and Astrology, writing books on Freemasonry and gaining high positions within Masonic lodges. His most famous work is “The Tarot of the Magicians” published in 1927.

“Must have in any good Masonic library. Still a reference despite some aspects that may seem from another time.
A classic” – VG’s Reviews – Amazon.com

“Volume 1 (“The Apprentice”) was a bit boring, but here it’s a pure treat! And Volume 3 (“the Master” currently being read) follows the same path. I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to know the true nature of this highly educated society.” – Lunabe’s Reviews – Amazon.com
