Chemistry and alchemy

François Jollivet-Castelot (1874-1937) was a French occultist and alchemist. A proponent of hyperchemistry, a discipline combining metaphysics and operative chemistry, he taught hylozoism, a monistic doctrine according to which matter, soul, life, and energy are all one; everything in nature is constantly evolving and transforming.

This book brings together his hyperchemical study “Chemistry and Alchemy” and his treatise on the Great Alchemical Work.

François Jollivet-Castelot, a French occultist and alchemist, was born on July 8, 1874, in Douai. He died on April 22, 1937, in a car accident in Bourganeuf. He promoted hyperchemistry, combining metaphysics with operative chemistry, and taught the doctrine of hylozoism, which sees matter, soul, life, and energy as one, constantly evolving in nature. Jollivet-Castelot was also influenced by Charles Fourier and Christian communism.

REVIEW QUOTES:

This book attempts to show the link between chemistry and alchemy and claims to prove it with examples of chemical discoveries that are linked to alchemy. All this may be questionable, but it is a very beautiful illustration of the Great Work. To read!” – CharlesDexterWard’s Reviews – Amazon.com
